About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance and Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our clients team. This role will be crucial in supporting our finance operations across both our UK and USA sites. The ideal candidate will possess broad-based finance experience and thrive in a small, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for suppliers.
  • Raise purchase orders for two UK sites and submit for managerial approval.
  • Process purchase invoices and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve any UK and USA-based queries.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring creditors are paid to terms.
  • Post cash to the ledger .
  • Complete statement reconciliations.
  • Generate and process invoices for UK and USA operations.
  • Collect card payments from UK clients and ensure payments are received ahead of deliveries.
  • Post cash to the ledger.
  • Provide coverage for weekly payroll, including journal preparation, overtime tracking, and holiday/absence reporting.
  • Support HR with employee record maintenance.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Extensive experience across all areas of finance.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations with suppliers.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Payroll experience (training will be provided if needed).
  • Ability to collaborate with the Assistant Accountant and Financial Controller.
