Decontamination Technician

Temp to Perm role!

37.5 hours per week (rotational shifts, including occasional weekends which are paid at an overtime rate)

South Kent – Rural Location (Applicants must be able to drive due to location!)

£12.60 per hour + Overtime! 

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a well-established and successful company in the South Kent area as a Decontamination Technician.  

Working within the decontamination department your role is pivotal in supporting the smooth running of the surgical team, providing the equipment and instruments required for the day ahead.  

Your duties will include:

  • Processing the receipt, disassembly, manual and automated disinfection/sterilisation, testing, and dispatch of all equipment and instruments.
  • Carrying out routine daily testing of the decontamination equipment and ensuring safe operation.
  • Completing and recording all data for track and traceability.
  • Reporting resource issues and escalating where necessary.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of breakdowns, non-conformances, and incidents.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and colleagues to prioritise workload.
  • Any other duties/responsibilities as required.

The successful candidate will be/have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Organised and able to meet KPI targets.
  • IT literate, proficient in MS software.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs.
  • Own transport is essential due to the location.
