Family Solicitor / Legal Executive

My client, a well-known firm across Kent and Sussex, offers a fantastic opportunity for a Family Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team. This role is based in a beautiful location with free parking. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, and you will work closely with the Head of Department. The role can be either full-time or part-time, depending on your needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting day-to-day matters on behalf of clients in all private family matters, including divorce and dissolution, financial remedy, private law children issues, separation/cohabitation, and other private law family matters. Experience in TLATA proceedings would be advantageous.
  • Explaining complex legal issues to clients.
  • Managing both contentious and non-contentious matters, meeting court deadlines, and attending court as necessary, either behind counsel or conducting your own advocacy if preferred.
  • Overseeing financial control, including cash flow management through the collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
  • Meeting agreed time recording, billing, and cost recovery targets.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Keeping clients regularly informed of work progress and maintaining ongoing contact.
  • Providing high standards of client care in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensuring clients are aware of the various types of legal work carried out by the firm.
  • Participating in marketing activities organised by the Marketing department and leveraging networking and business development opportunities.
  • Maintaining Lexcel compliance and adhering to all regulatory obligations.
