Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, verifying the accuracy of shipments against packing lists.
- Perform materials handling duties, including sorting, stacking, and storing products in designated areas.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measuring loads and calculating quantities as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials safely.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety protocols.
- Basic maths skills for effective inventory management and load calculations.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving processes is preferred but not mandatory.
