Are you seeking a rewarding and permanent role where you can support adults with additional needs?  Join our client and make a meaningful impact every day.

Part of the Specialist Trust is a supported living house in the heart of the large village of Cranleigh, midway between Horsham and Guildford. The needs of their tenants include autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties and language and communication disorders.

The Role

They are seeking caring and empathetic individuals to join their team. Experience is not essential, as you will receive an excellent, comprehensive induction programme, along with ongoing support and training. After two years of service and completion of the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (enrolment begins after completing the 26-week probation period), there is an opportunity to advance to the role of Senior Support Worker (£23,911-£26,263). The cost of the diploma is covered by the Trust.

This is home to seven tenants who actively enjoy their leisure time.  You will support them in daily activities such as cooking, cleaning and shopping for essentials - similar to what you might do with your own family.  The tenants enjoy planning activities and individuals or the entire household may be involved.  You will enable tenants to access trips out, accompanying them to local facilities, leisure attractions, college, or further afield, including short breaks.  Recent activities include weekly accessible cycling sessions, mini golf, pantomime and theatre trips, theme park visits, bowling and cinema outings. Due to the rural location, this role requires driving tenants and staff using your personal vehicle (appropriately insured) and/or Motability/company vehicles with the appropriate license.  This will be discussed during the interview.

At times, the tenants may feel frustrated, anxious, or emotional, and you will need to guide them through these moments by helping them manage their feelings and behaviours. Comprehensive training and mentoring will equip you with the confidence to support them and provide safe and effective intervention if needed. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training before employment. Physical and mental resilience, as well as a 'can do' attitude, are essential. Having your own transport is desirable due to the semi-rural location.

Benefits

  • **£1,000 Retention bonus - £250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, £500 after 18 months at Trust (subject to tax and NI)
  • 25 days plus public holidays paid.
  • Full training and mentoring will be given.
  • Life Insurance and Medical cashplan
  • Team Teach positive behaviour support training, refreshed annually
  • Personalised approach to CPD, including training courses paid for by the Trust and regular 1:1 line management support with online appraisals
  • Employee assistance service (confidential, professional wellbeing and counselling 24/7 service for you and your family members)
  • Excellent network of support across the organisation including a team of Adult Mental Health First Aid and Occupational Health
  • Discount on fitness classes with Surrey Fitness Camps and Go Fest Active Studio
