Accountant - Practice - School Hours My lovely client is not your average accountancy practice. Yes, they do all of the standard compliance work to keep their clients safe and HMRC happy, but they also genuinely care about the success and development of their clients' businesses. Their team believe that clients who are empowered to understand their numbers can make better informed decisions and more effective decisions. They take great pride in helping their clients see through the fog of technical jargon to discover their business potential, helping them set plans from from here to there, and helping them undertake the journey with confidence. Do you want to work with a team of success fanatics?Come and join the team! What does this role involve, and what skills will you need? Area of responsibility 1: Tax & accounts:  
  • You will undertake the preparation, and submission of limited company accounts in accordance with FRS102 and FRS105.
  • You will prepare supporting corporation tax returns to a consistent and high standard.
  • You will prepare and complete accurate and timely self-assessment tax returns and supporting schedules for:
    • tax clients including company directors
    • high income individuals,
    • sole traders
    • rental income
    • investment and savings income
    • capital gains tax on UK property and
    • mainstream capital gains tax.
 What type of person will be well suited to this role? As the ideal candidate you will be confident at speaking directly to clients with a friendly and approachable manner. You will possess excellent communication skills (listening, verbal and written) and be highly capable at building professional working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including directors, peers, direct reports, clients, and other business associates. As an individual, you will be highly organised, adaptable, and good at managing pressure when peak working periods arrive. You’ll be able to share that ability with your colleagues and be a positive, uplifting manager who enjoys pro-actively helping others to develop their potential…and most important of all, you will hold a genuine passion for seeing or clients and their businesses thrive! Essential skills and experience for securing this position:
  • Some experience working in an accountancy role or practice, with a strong understanding of and capability with using modern tools of the job.
  • Strong capability using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Highly capable using email / phone / other workplace communication tools.
  • Confidence using telephone, conference call software (e.g. Zoom / Teams
