Grafton Banks Finance is currently recruiting for an Assistant Financial Controller with strong academics for a reputable and growing SME business and one of the leading organisations in their field. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the main purpose of the role is to produce the monthly management accounts, working closely with FC, CFO and department heads, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial data and delivering continuous improvement alongside excellent financial analysis to the business.

This is a super opportunity for a qualified accountant with a few years industry experience, looking for a step up in their career, who enjoys a fast paced environment and a strong team ethos.

Some of the main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts Pack to agreed deadlines
  • Preparation and posting of all month end accrual, prepayment and re-classification journals
  • Work on P&L, Cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis
  • Revenue, overhead and cost variance analysis
  • Preparation of departmental and ad hoc reporting
  • Balance Sheet review

The client requires you to be:-

  • A Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA only), trained in accountancy practice, with A Levels. 
  • Experience of producing Management Accounts.
  • Good analytical skills and a strong systems background and Sage will prove to be highly advantageous.
  • With offices in Crawley, the firm offer a hybrid work pattern of 3 days per week in the office in Crawley, 2 days WFH.
