Accounts Assistant (Credit Controller)

Up to £32,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
- Conduct regular follow-up calls and correspondence to collect overdue invoices.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Process credit applications, assess creditworthiness, and set credit limits for new and existing clients.
- Prepare and distribute monthly account statements and reports for management review.
- Liaise with internal teams and external customers to handle account queries effectively.
- Assist in month-end close processes and ensure accurate reporting of receivables.
- Support ad-hoc finance projects and assist the Finance Manager as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related finance role.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is a plus).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and general ledger functions.
