Role Overview for a Cover Supervisor:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining learning continuity by supervising lessons in the absence of the class teacher. Your primary responsibility is to ensure students remain engaged with pre-set work while managing classroom behavior effectively.
Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across various subjects.
- Maintain classroom control and ensure students stay on task.
- Uphold school policies and manage student behavior effectively.
- Provide feedback on student progress to teaching staff.
- Support students with their learning where necessary.
- Assist with general school duties as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Confidence in leading a classroom environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups.
- Experience working with young people (preferred but not essential).
- A positive and professional approach.
Requirements:
- Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Math.
- A degree or classroom experience is desirable but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
