We are seeking a Stores Supervisor to join our client's team in Crawley. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and varied role where you will be responsible for delivering spare parts and service materials to a variety of manufacturing facilities. You will be overseeing a team within the Warehouse and Logistics area of the business. Full training will be provided to help you hit the ground running, and to enable you to make the most of this exciting opportunity.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven stores and warehousing experience
  • Experience in a managerial role
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Computer literate
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

How You'll Make an Impact

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure regular stock checks and audits.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate orders for replenishment to avoid shortages.
  • Organises a regular stock maintenance and inventory in the storage area.

Goods Receipt and Inspection:

  • Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring they are checked for accuracy and quality.
  • Document any discrepancies or damage and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Accepts incoming goods and compares them with the shipping document (Material number, description, quantity).

Storage and Organisation:

  • Ensure efficient organisation and storage of goods in the warehouse.
  • Implement and maintain proper labelling and categorisation of items for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Takes care for correct use of transport equipment (hand-guided industrial trucks, forklift, etc.).

Logistics Coordination:

  • Assembles deliveries and reviews for completeness and accuracy (e.g. quantity and article number in reference to the respective delivery notes).
  • Completes packaging of deliveries and following shipping instructions and packaging requirements
  • Arrange and manage logistics for the transportation of goods, both inbound and outbound.

Data Entry and Reporting:

  • Capture and maintain relevant data in warehouse management systems.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, order status, and warehouse performance.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any identified hazards promptly.

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and lead warehouse staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Schedule and manage workloads to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
