Membership Engagement Assistant - up to £28k + benefits

Are you passionate about customer engagement and membership growth? Our not-for-profit client are looking for a Membership Support Specialist to join their small team to assist the Membership Manager in recruiting and retaining members, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, and driving membership and revenue growth.

As an independent membership organisation, they are owned and operated by their members, making membership revenue a crucial part of their business model. This ensures that the organisation remains focused on serving the needs and interests of its members, creating a supportive and collaborative environment. Consequently, this role is pivotal to the growing team, as it directly influences the organisation's ability to attract and retain members, thereby sustaining its operations and enabling further expansion.

In the role of Membership Engagement Executive you will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with members to boost retention and satisfaction.
  • Ensure members leverage all communication channels to promote their business.
  • Respond to inquiries from existing and prospective members.
  • Maintain and update the membership database and records.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for the Membership Manager with current and potential members; attend meetings when appropriate.
  • Assist in researching and capturing data on prospective members and competitors.
  • Collaborate with the team to coordinate and deliver membership activities.
  • Regularly attend Member Events.
  • Maintain and update the website, including the Membership Directory.
  • Handle sales and administration of the company’s Members Magazine.
  • Provide social media support for membership campaigns.
  • Support the delivery of:
  • Membership Marketing Plan
  • Online and offline content, including video, Magazine, and other materials.
  • Media and PR development.
  • Help attract new members and promote the organisation.

To be considered for this role you need to:

  • Ideally worked in an Office Sales or Sales Support role previously
  • Be confident speaking with key stakeholders across a variety of businesses
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be adaptable and a strong team player - no 2 days will be the same and you will need to support the other team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate social media platforms and update websites.
