Reed Education are working with a nursery who are seeking a Room Manager to join their nursery team. The successful candidate will assist the Nursery Manager in ensuring compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework and the nursery’s philosophy. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment for children, being a role model, and managing the team effectively.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist in the implementation of the EYFS statutory framework and maintain high standards within the nursery.
  • Keep up to date with changes within the Early Years Sector to ensure the nursery delivers a high-quality curriculum.
  • Plan and implement activities based on children’s interests and developmental needs, recording progress and monitoring for additional support.
  • Ensure high-quality observations and assessments of children to track their progress and support individual needs.
  • Develop professional relationships with parents and collaborate with external agencies to support children’s individual needs.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the key person system.
  • Share responsibility for health and safety, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery.
  • In the absence of the Manager and Deputy Manager, undertake the overall day-to-day management of the nursery.
  • Support the development of the nursery by actively seeking improvement opportunities and documenting findings and actions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in childcare and education.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Early Years Setting.
  • Experience leading and supporting a team.
  • Current safeguarding training.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework and child development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team with excellent communication skills.
  • IT skills and the ability to use own initiative.
  • Kind and caring nature with a positive and self-motivated attitude.
  • DBS check (required).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education.
  • Management training and qualifications.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.
