Join our Clients team, a leader in providing quality outdoor leisure experiences. They are looking for a Planning Manager to advise on all planning-related matters across their extensive UK portfolio of 2500 locations. This role is crucial in aligning their Site and Accommodation Department's strategy with the long-term business goals by securing planning consents to develop and improve their estates.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide strategic planning advice on development, redevelopment, and change of use opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit planning appraisals, statements, and applications for site-related developments.
  • Manage pre-application consultations with Local Planning Authorities (LPAs).
  • Attend meetings with planning officers, internal colleagues, and at planning committee meetings as required.
  • Select and manage external professional advisers including planning, heritage, ecology, highways, and flood risk consultants on a project-by-project basis.
  • Handle objections to proposals on neighbouring properties that negatively impact the Companys sites.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of planning projects, ensuring collaboration with in-house and external disciplines for swift, positive outcomes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Accredited degree in Town Planning or a similar discipline.
  • Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) with post-qualification experience, ideally in a planning advisory role.
  • Proven track record of preparing and successfully securing planning consents for significant development schemes.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build sustainable relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills and report writing capabilities.
  • Well-developed IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Flexibility to work from the office, home, and on-site, including the ability to travel across the UK and stay away as required.
  • Must be a car driver.
