They have an opportunity for a Commercially focused Management Accountant to join a thriving and fast paced division within their business.

Your responsibilities day to day will be…

  • Financial reporting and business partnering activities for an entity operating within the UK.
  • Production of a quality monthly financial reporting pack with commentary, including full P&L and detailed balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with the Group timetable
  • Comparing actual performance to budgets, providing variance analysis as appropriate
  • Consistently and accurately meeting internal and external deadlines
  • Ensuring a quality year end audit pack is delivered to the auditors at the end of the financial year, with minimal year-end adjustments.
  • Develop relationships with key business stakeholders and deliver commercial insight into results to enable these stakeholders to better understand and improve business performance. Proactively engage in projects with these stakeholders that grow business value.
  • Challenge the existing methodology and controls, map out the current process and recommend improvements and work closely with the management team to implement appropriate policies and procedures. 
  • Support the senior finance management team with ad hoc projects.

Experience / qualifications required:

  • Open on either a PQ, looking to progress or a fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA accountant with relevant experience in a financial reporting / business partnering role.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Experience of interacting across all levels of the organisation including dealing with non-finance people to gather relevant information.
  • Strong MS Excel proficiency.
  • Experience of fostering strong working relationships within the finance team and across the organisation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability and a willingness for continuous improvement and development
