RotheramCarrington Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a well-established business based in the Crewe area, offering hybrid working. Our Client is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on a permanent basis to join their team. This business has grown year on year, and currently turns over circa £50m. They have recently won two large contracts, which are secured for the next 10 years. This is a 'HandsOn' Management Accountant role working for a large SME.

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Production and review of the monthly management accounts from the trial balance to financial statements
  • Produce more complex processes and reconciliations around the month end in areas such as intra group, stock and liability calculations.
  • Providing timely and insightful reporting and management information as required
  • Provide any ad hoc analysis or reporting required
  • Excel modelling around bids and tenders, working with non-finance stakeholders across the business
  • Working with other colleagues across the business particularly in Logistics and Billing.
  • Ensuring compliance and timely completion of statutory filings.
  • Continue to help support and develop the controls and processes in place within the finance function to help the business achieve its vision while demonstrating its values.
  • Support and help in the development of the wider finance team, across areas such as sales and purchase ledger.
  • Review of monthly VAT returns and reconciliation to the general ledger
  • Lead role in bi-annual finance audits
  • Responsible for liaising with the external audit team, providing all necessary documentation in provided and submitting group reporting information where required.
  • Assist with the production of year end statutory financial statements, liaising with the external professional advisors and the Group finance team.
  • Point of contact for the escalation of accounting queries and ongoing understanding of financial practices.
  • Working closely, and supporting the Finance Manager and FP&A Director

Skills/Experience

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, part-qualified or QBE (plus study support if required)
  • Proven experience within a process and controls environment
  • Advanced Excel and experience of working with financial models
  • Excellent communication skills as this role will be dealing with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • A particular desire for controls and processes, always looking for better ways of working
  • Team player happy to cover during holidays and get stuck in during busier periods

Salary/Benefits

  • £40,000 to £50,000 per annum
  • 25 days plus holiday plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working, however would expect a new person to be in the office more at the start to get the training and experience.
