Reed Food & FMCG are partnering with a fantastic business, who are looking for an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, near Crewe.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of EHS initiatives to improve and standardise procedures and ensure regulations and compliance are in place and adhered to. The site is an automated warehouse, and you will be heavily involved in developing, implementing and managing safe procedures of work, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring the workplace is safe and compliant from all H&S and Environmental aspects.

This is a standalone role, without direct reports, however, you will have multiple stakeholders throughout the business, so strong communication and stakeholder management skills are a must.

What you’ll need

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of implementing EHS procedures and controls
  • Experience of writing risk assessments and procedures, and accident investigation
  • A clear understanding of industry specific protocols and legal requirements for EHS compliance
  • Experience of delivering H&S training, communications, and employee engagement
  • An understanding of the sense of urgency associated with FMCG logistics operations

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead on EHS strategy and policy, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and systems
  • Ensure effective procedures are in place for risk assessments, safe systems and any third parties (Chemical experience is beneficial)
  • Promote sustainable practice, site-wide and ensure compliance with all environmental standards
  • Develop, maintain and manage new systems, procedures and policies, and ensure accurate reporting at all times
  • Review all H&S policies, documentation and ensure the culture is embedded into all teams
