About the School

Simply Education is excited to be working with a local school in Crewe that shares our values and commitment to helping students achieve their full potential. We are seeking an outstanding Teaching Assistant (1:1) to work with this school to deliver high quality interventions and build good rapport and relationships with their students.

Our school supports students who are in years 1 - 6 who are at risk of permanent exclusion find their way back into full time education whether that be mainstream or specialist provision. The school aims to create a learning environment that that is supporting, engaging and focuses on a child centred approach. Some of the need's students may display are behaviour related or where the student has been struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. The school's aim is to reignite the children's love of learning and support them to make positive changes to their mindset and attitude towards their learning.

Part of the role would include delivering high quality interventions for a child who finds it challenging attending the school environment. To support the child's needs sessions have temporarily been moved to Crewe Library where the child feels more comfortable. All planning for this role is prepared by the class teacher so you would just be responsible for delivering the sessions and creating a learning environment where the child feels safe to explore their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

- To support students to access their learning.

- Support the students to become re-engaged with their learning.

- Model and promote high behaviour expectations.

- Communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.

- To prepare the students for life beyond school.

Key Requirements:

- An understanding of SEMH needs

- Ability to work independently

- Knowledge and understanding of vocational education.

- Strong communication skills.

- Resilience and the ability to model and promote high behaviour expectations.

- Ability to inspire and motivate students.

- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Driving license and access to own transport is essential
