Contract CAD / Tooling Engineer Jigs & Fixtures

We are looking for a Contract CAD / Tooling Engineer to join the Jigs & Fixtures team within Production Planning (Manufacturing Engineering). This role involves designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures for final assembly processes, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing the full lifecycle of tooling projects, from concept to handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support final assembly processes.
  • Develop and implement tooling solutions within project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to proactively address risks and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage projects effectively, tracking milestones and risks to ensure successful delivery.
About You:

We are looking for someone with experience in manufacturing engineering or CAD design with a strong understanding of vehicle assembly processes. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Expertise in designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling for manufacturing (Catia V5).
  • Hands-on experience with assembly tooling such as positioning brackets, pressure rollers, and badge placement fixtures.
  • Strong knowledge of tolerancing requirements and safety regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience using MS Project.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Minimum HND qualification, ideally an Engineering degree.
