Role: Lead Machine Production Operator & Supervisor
Location: Holmes Chapel (CW4)
Hours: 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £42k (dependent on experience) + benefits

About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Lead Machine Production Operator & Supervisor to work alongside the Production Manager in establishing and maintaining a modern manufacturing facility. This is a dual-purpose role, with approximately a 50:50 split between machine operation and supervisory responsibilities. You’ll ensure the smooth running of high-tech machinery while leading a team to uphold production standards, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation (50%)
•Set up and operate high-tech, PLC-controlled machinery.
•Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Ensure the production of high-quality outputs with zero tolerance for defects.
•Work with processes such as stamping, molding, and heat-sealing (experience in an automotive environment is advantageous).
Team Supervision (50%)
•Work closely with the Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations.
•Supervise and support the production team, ensuring targets and safety standards are met.
•Train, guide, and motivate team members to improve processes and performance.
•Promote and implement LEAN manufacturing principles across the team.
Skills & Experience
•Supervisory Experience: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a production team.
•Machine Operation: Strong expertise in setting up and running PLC-controlled machinery.
•Quality Control: Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
•Safety First: A safety-conscious mindset, with experience maintaining and promoting safe working practices.
•LEAN Manufacturing: Knowledge and enthusiasm for LEAN principles.
•Licenses: A counterbalance license is desirable; a reach truck license is a bonus.
•Mechanical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical engineering practices is advantageous.
