Working within Keltbray Infrastructure Services Ltd, Energy Transmission & Distribution Business Unit working from our Office in Crewe, Cheshire. Forming a part of the Commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will include:
- Input into the application and credit control processes
- Understanding of income forecast and pricing of variations
- Understanding of the change control system
- Understanding of project risk
- Understanding of the production of CVRs
- Understanding of CTC
- Understanding the production of forecasting data
- Understanding the costing process
- Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
- Assisting with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
- Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements
- Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.
- Attend project progress meetings.
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports
Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business.

- Ensure that the group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
- Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s
- Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement
- Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client base
- Assisting with the use of key lean tools to drive efficiencies and reduce waste
- Encourage, support and assist with the delivery of successful collaborative planning with the contract delivery teams
- Commitment to their own professional development, and that of others across the Business Unit
- Other tasks appropriate to the role of Quantity Surveyor, as identified by the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor
