Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join secondary schools across the UK, starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a genuine desire to help students with SEND succeed academically and personally. You will be providing crucial support to teachers and students, ensuring all students have equal access to learning opportunities in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students with SEND, assisting them with their individual learning needs in the classroom.

  • Aid in the delivery of tailored interventions and support programmes designed to help students overcome barriers to learning.

  • Work closely with subject teachers to ensure the effective differentiation of lessons, enabling students with SEND to fully engage.

  • Support students with a variety of SEND, including autism, dyslexia, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional development of students.

  • Assist students with personal care and mobility where necessary.

  • Record and report on student progress, communicating effectively with teachers and parents where required.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND, ideally in a secondary school setting.

  • A strong understanding of the barriers that students with SEND face and a passion for helping them achieve their potential.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and parents.

  • A proactive and patient approach, with the ability to adapt to varying needs and challenges.

  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment).

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are beneficial, but not essential.
