Job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.

Duties

  • Manage accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with financial accounting standards.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero, PeopleSoft, Sage, and QuickBooks for efficient record-keeping.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff members and assist in their professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the financial services sector.

Experience

  • Proven experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of accounts payable and financial management.
  • Experience of the property industry and advantage
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Xero, PeopleSoft, Sage, and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is advantageous.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
