We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Finance Officer to handle various financial functions including reconciliations, bookkeeping, forecasting, and data analysis. This role will also include specific duties such as managing invoicing, VAT filing, payroll reconciliation, and using financial software tools like Xero and Power BI. You will support the Finance Manager in maintaining financial health and providing insights through data driven reports and analysis. 

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Accounting:

Invoicing:

  • Uploading invoices into the system.
  • Issue credit notes for refunds upon receiving requests.
  • Track and report the status of Accounts Receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Handle inquiries related to invoicing from agencies and other parties.

HMRC Monitoring:

  • VAT return filing and ensuring timely submission of tax related documents.
  • Prepare control reports for VAT liabilities and monitor balances with HMRC.

Month End Closing Tasks:

  • Prepare manual journals for wage and sales cutoff if necessary.
  • Complete reconciliations in Xero and ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date.

Payroll Payment Reconciliation and Control:

  • Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries.
  • Process payroll payments and ensure they are properly recorded and accounted for.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports, specifically focusing on expense data preparation and other financial metrics.
  • Analyse financial data and trends to support management in decision making processes.

Financial Systems Maintenance:

  • Manage the creation of new Xero accounts and maintain records of all updates.
  • Ensure the maintenance and updating of login details for financial systems access.

Bank Account Maintenance:

  • Oversee and manage access to banking platforms, ensuring records of finance related access credentials are kept up to date.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in Xero for accounting tasks is essential.
  • Experience with Power BI for financial reporting and data analysis is required.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT filings and payroll processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • High level proficiency in Excel, including financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
