We are currently seeking a Careers Advisor for temporary cover at an educational institution in South London. This role requires a dedicated professional who can provide comprehensive careers guidance to students, helping them make informed decisions about their future educational and career paths.

Day-to-day of the role of a Careers Advisor:

  • Provide one-to-one guidance and group workshops to students on various career-related topics.
  • Assist students in understanding their skills, interests, and values to make informed decisions about their education and career.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of career options, entry requirements, and pathways for further education and employment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate career education into the curriculum.
  • Organise and deliver career events, such as job fairs and employer talks.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Careers Advisor role:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance (DIP CG) or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in an educational setting, such as a school or college.
  • Strong understanding of the current job market and educational pathways.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting students in achieving their career aspirations.
