A CNC Programmer is requested to work in a leading manufacturer of precision components and assemblies for various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and medical devices. As part of their continued growth, we are looking for a skilled CNC Programmer to join their team and work with cutting-edge Siemens-controlled Mills and Turners.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled CNC Programmer to join the team in a permanent contract. The successful candidate will work with Siemens-controlled CNC milling and turning machines to produce high-precision parts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
Working hours: 37.5 hrs /week: Monday-Thursday 7am-3.30pm and Friday 7am-12.30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Programming: Program CNC milling and turning machines using Siemens controls based on technical drawings and specifications.
- Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling and turning machines to ensure accurate and efficient machining of parts.
- Tool Selection: Determine and select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feeds to optimise machining operations.
- Quality Assurance: Perform inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, and CMM) to ensure parts meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve programming or machine-related issues during setup and operation, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to existing programming practices, workflows, and machine processes to increase productivity and quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine programs, setups, tool lists, and inspection results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and designers to ensure efficient production processes and the highest quality of output.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and industry regulations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience programming CNC mills and/or CNC turners using Siemens controls (828D)
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and setup.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and correct machining issues promptly.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in the finished product.
- A solid understanding of CNC machine safety procedures and guidelines.
