Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional ready to take on a senior role? Join a local hospital as a Senior Employee Relations Advisor and deliver a comprehensive, high-quality, and proactive ER advisory and support service within the Trust. This crucial position involves supporting managers and staff from case initiation to resolution, ensuring all processes align with Trust policies, best practices, and employment law.
A Senior Employee Relations Advisor's Responsibilities:
- Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with managers across the Trust to support employee relations and management upskilling requirements.
- Provide Expert Advice: Offer expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment law, ensuring early resolution of issues and effective risk management.
- Manage Complex Cases: Handle complex cases including sickness absence, disciplinary actions, grievances, harassment, bullying, and performance management.
- Support Staff Wellbeing: Collaborate with the Health & Wellbeing Team and Occupational Health to develop support packages for staff in distress.
- Assist in Formal Hearings: Support managers in formal hearings, ensuring they are well-prepared to present their cases effectively.
- Lead Consultation Processes: Oversee consultation and restructuring processes, including advice on redundancy and support in handling redeployment.
- Contribute to HR Policies: Participate in job evaluation panels and contribute to the authoring and revision of HR policies and document templates.
- Promote Inclusion: Advocate for equal opportunities, fairness, equity, and inclusion through all People processes.
What are we looking for in our next Senior Employee Relations Advisor?
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in Employee Relations within a healthcare setting or similar environment.
- HR Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of handling sensitive and complex situations.
- Case Management: Ability to lead and manage cases from initiation to resolution, including high-stakes and complex scenarios.
- Training Experience: Experience in training and upskilling managers in HR processes.
