- Provide expert, professional ER advice and guidance in line with policies, employment legislation, and best practice.
- Lead on highly complex ER cases, including investigations, hearings, and formal processes.
- Ensure all ER cases are managed efficiently, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with best practice guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with HR Business Partners and senior management to improve case handling and investigation processes.
- Line manage and develop the Senior ER Advisors, overseeing workload allocation and ensuring cases are completed to a high standard.
- Write and update employment policies in accordance with employment law and best practice.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops to upskill managers in handling people management issues.
- Support the Head of ER in producing KPI reports, analysing ER trends, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain effective relationships with Trade Unions, legal advisors, and senior stakeholders within the organisation.
- Deputise for the Head of Employee Relations as required.
- Significant experience in Employee Relations, ideally within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practice.
- Experience in managing complex ER cases, including investigations and formal hearings.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and support managers in handling people management issues.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse ER data and identify trends to drive improvements.
- Experience of working with Trade Unions and legal advisors.
