SRG is working with a leading manufacturer of coatings and speciality resins, based in South London. With the business growing, they are now looking for a Production Supervisor to join the team on the manufacturing floor. The role will be hands-on, operating machinery across various production lines as well as supervising Production Operatives. It would be well suited to someone with previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, who has good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
It should be noted that this role is not lab-based or office-based and will involve heavy lifting and working in a busy chemical manufacturing environment.

Role / Description

  • Assisting the Manufacturing Manager in daily manufacturing operations
  • Working across various production lines, operating blending tanks, reactors, distillation units and decanting product into containers
  • Correct weighing of raw materials to ensure minimal waste
  • Supervising Production Operatives; including allocating tasks and workstations, ensuring production targets and quality specifications are met, and that production records are updated
  • Supporting the organisation of production to achieve cost efficiency and high product throughout
  • Adhering to and promoting Health & Safety, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Investigating and/or reporting production issues as required


Requirements

  • Good work ethic, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment
  • Strong appreciation of Health & Safety awareness
  • Experience of mixing/blending, production or processing of paints, coatings, resins or polymers advantageous is highly advantageous
