A leading local authority requires an experienced Head of Temporary Accommodation and Support. This senior role will provide strategic leadership, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of housing services and accommodation support to residents in need. As part of the management team, you will work collaboratively to deliver services that support long-term, sustainable solutions while achieving high-quality customer outcomes. This is an interim role starting asap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the assessment and provision of temporary, emergency, and settled accommodation.
  • Develop and manage partnerships to deliver key outcomes within housing services.
  • Ensure services meet council, legislative, and professional standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee budget management, resources, and service delivery to ensure value for money.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management protocols are maintained.
  • Develop and implement service improvements and best practices.

Essential Experience:

  • Senior leadership experience within a local authority or large organisation.
  • Proven track record in delivering housing services, particularly in temporary or emergency accommodation.
  • Strong financial management and budget control expertise.
  • Experience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including statutory bodies and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, delivering high-quality customer service.
