We are now seeking an experiencedDeputy Managerto join our residential childrens home in Rainham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and skilled individual to lead a dedicated team while supporting vulnerable children and young people in a warm, supportive environment.

The Role:
As the Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently provided to our residents. You will help lead and motivate a team of care staff, ensuring that each childs individual needs are met, and promoting a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Home Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Ofsted and safeguarding.
  • Lead by example and support your team in providing person-centered care to children and young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD).
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Promote positive relationships and encourage young people to build life skills, self-esteem, and independence.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of care staff, providing guidance and feedback to help them develop their skills.
  • Ensure staff training and development needs are met and help to maintain a motivated and effective team.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with external agencies, including social workers, families, and other professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care.

What Were Looking For:

  • A proven track record in residential care, ideally with experience working in an EBD childrens home.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent; Level 5 or willingness to work towards is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and best practice in residential care.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with young people and professionals alike.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people and a commitment to their well-being and development.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges and problem-solving.
