Head of English Department - Exciting Leadership Opportunity in Dagenham

We are looking to appoint a Head of English Department to start immediately after the Easter holidays. This is a full-time position, and you will be paid in line with the Outer London Teachers Pay Scale, with a TLR 1A allowance of £9,782. Our current Head of English Department is relocating, and we are keen to find a strong leader who can continue to build on their success.

• Lead and manage the English Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4

• Inspire students and staff with a love for English and, ideally, Media

• Oversee curriculum development and assessment strategies to enhance student progress

• Support and develop teachers within the English Department in Dagenham, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth

• Set high expectations for student achievement and behaviour, in line with our vision for excellence in all that we do

• An experienced English Teacher with a track record of excellent classroom practice

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team

• A passion for English and, ideally, experience in teaching Media

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
