We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Mental Health Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will play a key role in helping service users maintain their independence, improve their wellbeing, and work towards recovery goals in line with personalised care plans.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with service users, promoting trust and engagement.

  • Assist with day-to-day tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication prompts, and attending appointments.

  • Support service users in developing life skills, confidence, and coping strategies.

  • Monitor and report changes in mental health, behaviour, or physical wellbeing to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

  • Promote a safe and supportive environment that respects the dignity, rights, and individuality of all service users.

  • Encourage social interaction, participation in activities, and community involvement.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational and regulatory standards.

  • Work collaboratively with mental health nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Support crisis intervention plans where necessary and follow safeguarding protocols.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a mental health or care support role (preferred but not essential).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Compassionate, patient, and non-judgemental approach.

  • Ability to stay calm and act appropriately in challenging or high-pressure situations.

  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.

  • Need to have Restraint training ! (e.g., PMVA, CPI, or MAPA).

  • Need immunisations (Hep - B , MMR , TB) !



Working Hours:

  • Full-time, part-time, and flexible shifts available.

  • May include evenings, weekends, night shifts, and bank holidays.
