About Us: Randstad is partnering with the Looked After Through Care Team in Darlington to recruit an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner.

Job Description:

Are you an experienced social worker with a passion for supporting looked-after children?
In this role, you will provide guidance and support to social workers while managing a complex caseload of looked-after children and young people transitioning out of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a complex caseload of looked-after children and young people, ensuring their care plans are effectively implemented and reviewed.
  • Supporting the transition of young people from care to independence, including the development of Pathway Plans.
  • Conducting assessments to identify the needs and strengths of the children and young people in your care.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, external agencies, and other professionals to coordinate services and resources.
  • Attending and contributing to child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and looked-after children.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in a social work role, particularly working with looked-after children or within a children's social care service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, young people, carers, and professionals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social care and child protection.
