The Financial Accountant will oversee cash management and investment processes within the finance department of a leading transport company based in North Kent. This role is split between cash & investment management and overseeing the daily finance operational tasks such as month end and statutory accounts.

As the Financial Accountant, you will manage the cash flow and certify funds for operational requirements, ensuring any surplus funds can be invested as well as overseeing all financial and statutory accounts.

Description

  • Actively develop and maintain a robust cash management system.
  • Co-ordinate the placement of investments of surplus funds, both short and long term, working with investment managers to ensure optimal returns while maintaining the required liquidity.
  • Monitor the return from investments, reporting regularly to management. Collating the required information on the investments for the auditors and the tax consultants.
  • Develop reports to present the cash position and trends to management along with the opportunities for investment.
  • Prepare Financial statements under IFRS
  • Work closely with various departments managers to forecast the daily cash demands, including payroll, procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital projects managers and others.
  • Assist with producing annual financial statements including liaising with external auditors
  • Assist in the preparation of budget, forecasts and long-term plans.
  • Manage any ad-hoc projects as required

Profile

  • ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA qualified
  • Experience of cash/investment management and financial management accounting
  • Knowledge of investments and bonds and a Treasury qualification (AFP/ACT) is advantageous
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
