Role Overview
An experienced Commercial Manager is required to lead a dynamic team and play a key role in delivering a range of civil engineering contracts valued at £60M per annum successfully. This role involves ensuring commercial success, managing risks, driving profitability, and mentoring professionals while shaping strategic business direction.
The role is offered on a hybrid working basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of quantity surveyors and commercial administrators.
- Provide commercial leadership across contracts, ensuring compliance with rights and obligations.
- Shape and implement commercial strategies to drive business success.
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and financial performance.
- Oversee contract negotiations and secure favourable terms.
- Lead cost value reconciliation and cash flow management.
- Resolve complex contractual matters and disputes.
- Ensure subcontractor agreements are commercially sound.
Requirements
- Strong background in commercial management within the utilities sector.
- Significant management experience with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Confident communicator capable of presenting complex commercial data to stakeholders at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC3 contracts, particularly Options A & C.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a results-driven mindset.
