Working hours will be 8.30am to 5.30pm, with 1 hour lunch break. You may need to adjust your hours occasionally to attend job fairs, interviews and conduct performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff development by identifying training needs, conducting training via team workshops and online platforms, conducting appraisals and quality and compliance checks.
  • Lead the recruitment process by implementing innovative strategies, attending job fairs, conducting interviews, and ensuring effective on boarding of new employees.
  • Identify training needs and deliver engaging workshops and online training sessions. Conduct appraisals, quality checks, and ensure continuous staff development.
  • Enhance employee engagement and satisfaction by identifying and implementing improved working arrangements, benefits, perks and arranging team building activities.
  • Continuously develop and implement DEI strategies to foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Manage and resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary matters through fair and transparent processes.
  • Monitor HR related best practices and legislative developments and advise senior management on the implementation of new HR policies, procedures and processes
  • Maintain employee HR records, monitor the training schedule, and proactively arrange the renewing of employee training as required.

Person Specifications

  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce at all levels.
  • Proven success in resolving employee issues.
  • Proactive and enterprising approach, able to suggest and implement improvements to senior management regarding HR procedures and the wider organisation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all mediums, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and summarise complex information.
  • Must have a valid driving license and the ability to travel locally for job fairs and interviews (mileage allowance provided).

Experience & Qualifications

  • You will need to hold a formal training qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, BTEC Award Level 3) and a CIPD Diploma I
  • You will also ideally hold the TAQA award in assessing vocational achievement Level 3.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within a HR role, preferably within the passenger transport, logistics, education, care, hospitality or manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of essential HR functions; recruitment, training, disciplinary and grievances.
  • Excellent understanding of employment laws and disciplinary procedures.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Driving license.
