We are seeking a dedicated Technical Manager to lead our Food Safety and Quality initiatives. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining our Food Safety and Quality Management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing our food safety culture across the company.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and enhance the company’s Food Safety and Quality culture in collaboration with other department managers.
  • Continuously improve and maintain the Food Safety and Quality Management system, including all related procedures.
  • Lead and refine the company's HACCP system and team.
  • Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators that align with customer requirements and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies including Food Safety & Quality, Allergen, Training, and Brand Integrity policies.
  • Manage the company’s Internal Audit System, conduct audits, and ensure team competency.
  • Maintain readiness for internal, customer, and third-party audits, coordinating with other departments to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the maintenance of raw material, semi-processed, and finished product specifications, ensuring clear communication across departments.
  • Administer the raw material and finished product sampling and testing programs.
  • Manage the environmental swabbing plan based on risk assessments.
  • Maintain the Company’s Quality Assurance Manual and Supplier and Raw Material Approval system.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and suppliers, acting as the first point of contact for technical inquiries and complaints.
  • Oversee the company’s Pest Control System and ensure all CCP training is current.
  • Stay updated with changes in legislation and customer codes of practice.
  • Lead and develop a team of QA professionals and deputise for the Group Technical Manager when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a Technical Manager role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety Systems, HACCP, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills, capable of leading a team and training staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently and effectively.
  • Relevant certifications in food safety and quality assurance are highly desirable.
