Financial Controller - Daventry - £45,000 to £60,000 DOE

Are you a Qualified Accountant eager to chart a path towards becoming a Finance Director within a thriving SME?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established, privately-owned business in Daventry, in operation since the 1970s. This role is perfect for a proactive individual who can work closely with the Managing Director, while leading a small finance team of two and taking a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with the Managing Director to provide insights on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and investment strategies.
  • Enhance and streamline financial systems and processes to improve overall business efficiency and performance.
  • Take a commercial approach to finance, advising on cost management and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Develop financial models and tools to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in a similar role.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to manage both high-level financial planning and hands-on tasks.
  • A commitment to long-term growth and development within a smaller, dynamic business.
  • An ability to drive change and implement best practices in financial management.
