About Us:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team in a Pastoral Care role. The successful candidate will play an integral part in supporting students' emotional, social, and academic well-being, ensuring they thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and pastoral support to students, helping them navigate personal and academic challenges
- Act as a point of contact for students who need advice, guidance, or assistance
- Work closely with teachers, school leadership, and parents to monitor and support student welfare
- Help develop and implement well-being initiatives and programs for students
- Support students with transition phases, such as moving between key stages or adjusting to school life
- Assist in managing student behavior and resolving conflicts in a positive and supportive way
- Maintain confidential records of student well-being and progress
- Promote a positive school culture and contribute to creating a safe, supportive learning environment
- Provide support for students with additional needs, including special educational needs or mental health challenges
- Organize and lead pastoral activities and events to foster a sense of community
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a pastoral care, counseling, or student welfare role is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and staff alike
- Empathetic and non-judgmental approach to supporting students
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion
- A commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion within the school environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
- A calm and patient demeanor, especially in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications in education, counseling, or child development (or willingness to pursue further training)
- A strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
