Lab Operational Support

Location: EX6, Starcross, Nr Exeter, Devon

Full-Time: 37 hours per week, 8am - 4pm (usual pattern)

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Contract Length: until 30th June 2025 (could be extended)

Role: Working in the Operational Support team at the Starcross Laboratory.

  1. To act in a supporting capacity within a laboratory setting, delivering straightforward tasks and assisting in the delivery of the technical and scientific services to support policy.
  2. To provide support of all sections of the monitoring laboratory at Starcross. Assist in day-to-day activities (e.g. deliveries, cleaning of laboratory glassware, waste collections, equipment checks, preparation/orders for sample bottles, sample disposal, admin, visitor reception duties).
  3. To assist other operational support work groups when needed.

The successful candidate will need to comply with health and safety protocols and wear protective clothing (PPE) as required. You will also need to obtain a DBS before starting the role.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, that works well with others and as part of a team. You will need basic IT skills.. You will be able to maintain customer focus to ensure good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
