Biomedical/Molecular graduate Location: Deeside Type: Permanent Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 DOE Additional: 25 days holiday + BH + birthday +1 day holiday for each year after 5 years (upto year 10), 14 days paid sick leave per year, enhanced pension (5%), private medical, dental and optical cover. Permanent medical insurance, death in service 4x salary.Russell Taylor is working exclusively with a leading Biotechnology company at their new-modern site in Deeside; we are looking for bright - enthusiastic graduates (or recent/relevant experience) to work as a Laboratory Scientist on the DNA testing team; our Client offers a fantastic renumeration package alongside career development and the chance to be trained up as a Scientist working in a highly accredited (ISO 13485/ UKAS 17025/GDP) facility.The Role: -• Acceptance of raw materials and ensuring that they meet Goods Inward • Specifications. • Receive and handle client samples into the laboratory. • Operation of laboratory equipment: assisting in formulation dispense, and/or • setting up of PCR and ABI capillary sequencer using appropriate controls and PCR amplified products. • Set down and pull materials in the stability storage suite. • Accurately and completely use information management systems (where used) to record activity. • Completion and maintenance of laboratory records to the GDP standard. • Assist in data analysis and report writing. • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and good organisation of the entire laboratory suite. • Packing completed kits, stability storage returns and preparing sampling kits for DNA relationship testing.The Person: - • Will hold a degree or similar in one of the following disciplines: Forensic / Biology based, Molecular Biology, Applied Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry• Will have experience in (directly or indirectly from degree) in: PCR test work, DNA testing, using an ABI capillary sequencer (one of these would suffice). • We are looking for friendly, punctual, meticulous people who work well within teams and have proven team working experience. • Ideally we want to speak to applicants who have worked in retail/CS type roles (part-time jobs during studies).
