About the role

We are seeking a versatile IT Support Analyst with a Finance background to join the Booker IT team for a 12-month contract (parental cover). This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting change, compliance programmes, and systems delivery across our Finance teams.

In this role, you will provide daily support to our Finance colleagues, handle and resolve problem tickets, and offer key knowledge and expertise to assist in informed decision-making. The selected candidate will chip in to the ‘Better Credit’ programme, playing a pivotal role in implementing crucial changes that support the business’s growth objectives.

You will be responsible for safeguarding system integrity, ensuring compliance with ICFR controls, and performing routine and ad hoc tasks to support the Finance teams. Attention to detail and maintaining our financial systems\' security and effective operation are meaningful.

This role requires someone who can balance support and project priorities efficiently, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met while delivering project outcomes on time, within budget, and aligned with team member expectations.

Skills relevant for this job
  • Validated Classic General Ledger data interrogation skills.
  • Excellence in building positive relationships with business partners.
  • Confirmed ability to articulate sophisticated business requirements by means of a functional systems specification.
  • SAP FI/CO configuration and/or testing skills would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of Profit Centre / Cost Centre reporting structures.
  • Fully or Part qualified in a professional accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Deliver continuous improvements.
  • Desire to learn / contribute / drive progress.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate optimally and efficiently with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
Experience relevant for this job:
  • Experience in handling change from conception and design to testing, delivery and, ultimately, support.
  • Project delivery experience developed through Finance focussed initiatives.
  • Commercially aware and keen to understand the wholesale business and how different functions interact.
  • Good people management, with validated ability to optimally work with other internal and external teams.
  • Service leadership skills with experience of successful support provision and project leading.
  • Consistent delivery of results.
