Buyer - Deeside

Our client is recognised as the global leader in the development, design and manufacture of specialised engineering products. This is a great opportunity to work within a dynamic and progressive company. The company are looking for a Buyer to join the team who will be responsible for ensuring goods and services critical to business objectives are supplied in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to all company policies and prevailing business regulations

• Develop sourcing strategies for all categories of spend

• Ensure best practice procurement.

• Work closely with the Planning Department to ensure channels of supply are at the lowest total cost, not just the lowest purchase price.

• Reviewing the supply base and in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager formulating appropriate Supply Chain strategies.

• Managing the supply base and ensuring this is aligned with the business strategy.

Duties:

• Manage the day-to-day Purchasing team operations, in agreement with the Supply Chain Manager.

• Manipulating Dynamics 365 to maintain optimal availability of product for business needs.

• Advising the Procurement Assistants on best use of D365

• Maintaining all relevant cost, lead time and other Supply Chain information on Dynamics 365. • Achieving the lowest cost of acquisition across multiple suppliers, categories of spend and location.

• Improving our Vendor Payment terms in line with ongoing business requirements.

• Establishing Contracts of Supply and Pricing Agreements where applicable for significant suppliers

• Identifying opportunity for supplier improvements, as in agreement with the Supply Chain Manager, negotiating these changes.

• Sourcing and evaluating new / alternative suppliers as part of the business' continuous improvement philosophy

• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Planning Department.

• Identifying training and development needs for the procurement team.

• Ensuring value added collaboration between departments, sites and areas of the business.

• Deputising for the Supply Chain Manager by attending company meetings, as required.

• Ensuring that processes are carried out to ISO9001 standards

Experience Required:

• Minimum of three years’ experience within a purchasing environment, preferably in a supervisory role

• Working with multiple suppliers and large number of products.

• Proficient in the use of MS Office and ERP systems

• Supervising a team centered around problem solving and product availability.

• Vendor negotiations.

• Effective Internal stakeholder communications
