Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Procurement Director to join their team for their current project located in Deeside for a 12 month period. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategic and operational procurement activities, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end procurement, including tendering, sourcing, and supplier / contract management
- Identify and implement measures to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Analyse supplier offers and select the most appropriate purchasing goals
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable bids
- Confirm and manage letters of agreement and orders within designated limits
- Coordinate logistics for shipping, customs, and insurance operations
- Collaborate closely with the Head Office Procurement department
- Monitor supply market trends, risks, and opportunities
- Oversee warehouse activities, including consumables, goods receipt, and transfers
Qualifications:
- MCIPS qualification
- Experience working with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- Experience with ERP software, preferably SAP
- Strong document drafting and analysis skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proven experience in stakeholder and supplier management
- Experience managing procurement budgets of £35m+
