Your new companyA leading pharmaceutical company in North Wales is seeking an experienced MRO Procurement expert to join their team for a 12-month contract. They are going through an exciting period of expansion and need the support of a specialist MRO Buyer to purchase the goods and services required to successfully keep the manufacturing process running smoothly.Your new roleThe interim MRO Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies for our client's new manufacturing line currently under construction. The MRO Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services necessary for the smooth operation and maintenance of the site, contributing to the strategic goals of the new facility.In this role you will:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for MRO materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best value for the company.
- Continuously look for alternative suppliers and strive to purchase directly from manufacturers whenever possible to optimise costs and quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and address any issues promptly.
- Analyse and manage costs associated with MRO purchases, including tracking, and reporting on procurement-related KPIs.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Work closely with the engineering, maintenance and supply chain teams to understand their MRO needs and provide timely support.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
What you'll need to succeed
- A proven background in MRO Procurement from within a manufacturing environment - ESSENTIAL
- Ideally, you will have a background in engineering procurement / relevant degree so that you have an understanding of the technical specifications and terminology
- Knowledge of SAP Ariba
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and efficiencies
- Full right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract
- Able to commit to / fulfil the duration of the contract (12 months)
