You will lead a small team and collaborate with senior leaders across multiple academies to support financial planning, budgeting, and decision-making.   • Oversee and manage the Trust’s finance function, ensuring efficient financial operations across multiple academies.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure strong financial controls and processes are in place, driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and management information to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of statutory financial returns and reports in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment of financial strategies with the Trust’s educational and operational goals.
  • Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions to ensure the Trust’s financial stability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to maintain high performance.
About You: We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Financial Controller with a strong background in education finance for our client. You will have proven experience in managing financial operations for a multi-academy trust, independent school, or state-funded school. Your expertise in financial processes, controls, and regulatory compliance within the education sector will be crucial for success in this role.Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within a multi-academy trust, independent school, or state-funded school.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, controls, and statutory reporting requirements in the education sector.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
