Our client is seeking an Interim Management Accountant to join their growing team in Derby for a 3-6-month contract. As an Interim Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal within the finance team. Your primary responsibility will be to produce monthly management accounts, analyse variances against budget, prepare detailed commentaries, and ensure financial management policies adhere to regulatory standards. You will also play a key role in supporting the company's annual statutory audit and providing training to junior members of the team. This role requires someone who can build strong relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Prepare monthly management accounts including assisting with the preparation of monthly Board reports & information packs
- Analyse variances against budget and prepare detailed commentary highlighting the main drivers behind fluctuations
- Prepare Monthly journals for accruals, depreciation, prepayments, operating expenses etc.
- Own the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process ensuring policy compliance and timely investigation of any unreconciled items
- Build strong relationships and rapport with stakeholders internally and externally
- Ensure financial management policies and procedures adhere to regulatory standards and Group policies
- Support with the company's annual statutory audit
- Provide training and support to junior members of the team
- Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Interim Management Accountant position is someone who is highly competent in preparing management accounts and has excellent problem-solving abilities. You should have advanced Excel skills and hold an ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent experience. A 'can-do' attitude is essential along with excellent communication skills across all levels of the business.
