Project Accountant – Professional Services – Derby – £50-65,000 DOE + Benefits

Are you a skilled Project Accountant looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic, growing firm? Or are you currently in Accountancy Practice and keen to move into Industry?

Due to significant organic growth and strategic expansion plans, this Professional Services organisation is seeking a talented finance professional to support high-profile financial projects within its growing Finance Department.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO & CFO, you will play a key role in analysing financial data to support critical business decisions—particularly in relation to acquisitions and firmwide financial projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth financial transitions during acquisitions and delivering insightful financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing acquisition targets for suitability
  • Conducting initial high-level due diligence
  • Assisting with valuations and financial analysis
  • Preparing and raising key fact-finding questions for further due diligence
  • Providing ongoing financial and operational support post-acquisition
  • Producing daily financial performance reports
  • Supporting additional financial projects as directed by the CEO & CFO
What We’re Looking For
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or Part-Qualified with relevant acquisition experience)
  • Accountancy Practice background (ideal but not essential)
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial data review and correction
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong Excel skills for financial reporting
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
