Bennett & Game Recruitment is partnering a growing accountancy practice as they recruit for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their team. Offering a salary of £26,000-£29,000 (potentially more depending on experience), 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, 10% discretionary bonuses paid quarterly, onsite parking, pension, and more.

Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview- Accounts Preparation
- Preparing statutory accounts from a range of bookkeeping standards to incomplete records, including bank reconciliations, control account reconciliation, fixed asset accounting, calculation of debtors and creditors, nominal ledger accounting, and preparing trial balance.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Maintaining accounts for clients to the required standard
- Personal tax returns
- Corporation tax computations
- Assisting the team in carrying out internal audit work
- Dealing with client queries and liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts.
- General book-keeping on behalf of multiple clients using relevant accounting systems (including Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Digita and IRIS)
- Visit client premises to set up and maintain book-keeping records and quarterly VAT returns and provide support to clients, who maintain their own records, using the relevant accounting
- Submitting Year End accounts using accounts production software
- Have a strong understanding of accounts preparation and be either qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience.
- Experience with cloud software such as SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks and Free Agent.
- Being proficient in Digita would be beneficial
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to prioritise.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relations. Ensure a high level of service to meet client expectations.
- Building up good working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Working as part of a team as well as independently
- Good commercial awareness
- Tax planning and structures an advantage.
