Senior Accountant

Our client is an expanding Accountancy Practice based in Derby who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

The chosen candidate will have experience dealing with a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements as well as regular bookkeeping as necessary.

• Prepare financial statements from client source records, completing the necessary supporting schedules for manager review.
• Undertake regular bookkeeping for clients, including the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts as necessary.
• Be involved with planning work for relevant work assignments.
• Guiding and advising trainee / junior staff in the department, delegate work where necessary and suggest work that other member of the team can undertake.
• Chase up outstanding queries with clients and to 'progress manage' their own assignments.
• May be required to travel to clients' premises for meetings or other work. Some overtime is required from time to time.

• Proven experience within a similar role
• ACA/ACCA qualified or studying
